Background Music: Announcer: Welcome to The Podcast to be Named Later, where we explore the world a conversation at a time. Sit back and enjoy. Here are your hosts, Chris and Kelly. Kelly:  Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of the podcast to be named later. I'm back in Wisconsin and Chris is here, but I'm not sure Chris if I should be saying goodbye or hello because after Thanksgiving last week I went to look for you to say goodbye and you were nowhere to be found. What happened to you, Bud?  Chris:  Yeah I hit a tryptophan wall so I went pretty buckwild on the Thanksgiving dinner and then uh. Contrary to my my my usual MO, I went straight for the pie immediately after dinner, which was a big mistake I realized. So yeah, I got in the recliner, you know, we kind of did some cleaning up, put the food away. You know everyone was real gracious and helping clean up, you know, and there's quite a bit of dishes and food and stuff to put away. And we handle all that. And then I was going to sit in and and it was like the tail end of the Cowboys giants game and I'm gonna. I'm going to sit down, relax and and watch the fourth quarter of that game. And I got about. Halfway up with the recliner man I hit, I hit the button. The legs were coming up and I was like Oh yeah, this feels good. And then I realized, man, this is just pointless. I'm I'm going to be asleep in seconds. And now I'm just going to be a dude in the living room snoring. So I opted to go take. A quick nap and just free up the chair. For somebody else who wanted to sit in and so yeah, I went up and take a quick nap. And then I woke up 2 1/2 hours later and everyone was gone.  Kelly:  Well, I'll say goodbye to you from last week. Although I do gotta thank you for such a great day and man, we gotta get your tips and techniques for a. Deep frying Turkey, 'cause that was some of the best Turkey I had. Although I I know I played a key role in that. Cook into that Turkey, making sure that burner stayed lit every 15 minutes, going over and twisting the dial, but I really, really can't thank you enough and everybody else for making such a great day.  Chris:  Yeah, it was a great day for me to Kelly mad. I just having you here and having me here and and you know, having some of the family over and and you know that's what it's all about man, you get together with family. There was football on TV. It was just a wonderful day man fully enjoyed myself.  Kelly:  Speaking of football, how about that I read the? The NFL is unreal. The Giants Cowboys had they said 42 million people as a. I think the most watched regular season NFL game ever. Yeah, they just keep writing the checks.  Chris:  Yeah, and you know that game? That game was a bad. The the Buffalo Detroit game was pretty good. I mean really. Actually you know all the games on Thanksgiving Day were pretty. Solid I sent you a text yesterday during the Monday night game. I think I said something like I'm turning the Monday Night Football game off and go see if I can find some reruns of golden girls or something. So much of what they've given us. This year has just been. You know, just been terrible product, but on Thanksgiving Day I will say man this lady games looked solid going in and the games themselves didn't disappoint.  Kelly:  It is. It is interesting, I know I I didn't see that game. I was flying back on an airplane at the time. Talk a little bit about the NFL before we get into other stuff. What was but I? I did watch the Packer game Sunday night and at first it looked like it was going to be a a a dibacco. I'm not sure it didn't end up being one. But at least they made it a little bit competitive after looking like they were going to get blown out by Philadelphia. But Chris, I want to ask you a question about the Packers because this has been going on for years and the announcers. Yeah, they can say missed a tackle or whatever. But tell me man. What do you see going on? How is it that? Year after year I, I mean this happened when they played the 49ers in a playoff game way back when where Colin Kaepernick had like his best rushing game ever there was. There's been game after game where, oh, some running back you haven't heard of the in the NFL just had his bad best rushing day ever. And this culminated Monday night or Sunday night with Philadelphia. I mean 363 yards rushing 100. I think it's 157 for the running back and 150 for the quarterback or some numbers close to what is going on.  Chris:  Well, this has been their their thing man. I mean for as long as I can remember back being a fan, this has been our Achilles heel Achilles heel in the playoffs and what's kept us from probably having uh more Super Bowl rings as Packer fans is our inability to stop the run and whether it be a. Quarterback, I mean, you know going back, I remember when Mike Vick. Ran all over us. You know, like you said, Kaepernick, I want to say he ran for 200 yards as a quarterback. It's just been on and on and on. And as a fan I mean right here in my voice. Man, I'm just frustrated, you know, I I, I may. Pretty in tune fan and when the drafts come around you know you and I talk college football. I follow it. You know reasonably closely I I have an idea heading into the draft. You know what? What guys skill sets are and I'm just begging every year. Man, can we please get people on our team who can tackle? And and so when you watch him play, I mean, they're just they don't square up, uh, they don't have the push. We don't have the space heaters, you know, the the. Guys who can gobble up space up the middle and clog holes and then we don't have linebackers who are geared to stop the run. You know there's the elite guys, you know the the Ray Lewis and the Brian Earl Ackers and and you know some of those guys, right? I'm not asking for one of them, but. Well, we seem to always accumulate on our team. Number one. We don't do it at the draft we we always almost always seem to get our linebackers via free agency and then especially the inside linebackers but outside as well really and. So we don't get guys who are committed to stopping the run man and and we just don't have enough players. It takes, I mean, really kind of takes a team, but the same thing at the safety position. You know we're we're not getting the Buddha bakers and and the. Guys who are. Willing to stick their nose in there and and and be in the backfield? You know we have a. Decent coverage coverage guys. A lot of times, but you know man, I I just you know and again man. I mean, there's this guy is a rare breed, but like the Troy Polamalu types you know and and I'm not saying he has to be that like all time, great. But you know, just a guy who's not only willing to go defend the past, but also get in there. And stop the run so. You know, at any given moment, we might have. Actually, you know three or four guys who are, you know. Good at stopping the run and there's eleven guys on defense. If we got four that are good at it and the other guys are are more geared towards Pasch average, it just stands to reason you you won't be good at stopping the run. We're just not dedicated to it from a personnel standpoint.  Kelly:  When you're watching this on TV, can like. Are these guys close or are they just like getting blown out of the water as you as you might say like is it just plainly obvious that they are outmatched at whatever is going on?  Speaker  Well in the Philly.  Chris:  Game if you're talking about that one specifically, yeah, they were just out matching now. Philly's offensive line is one of the best in football. Maybe the best in football. They're right up there. They have a scheme that's geared to that. So so you know what Philly is doing is is not new and. You know, it's hard to get ready for. That when you have a. A powerful running quarterback that's dedicated to running the way Philly is. You know couple that with with the normal running game and I think that's what San Francisco kind of envisioned when when they were switching to Trey Lance. And obviously, you know they've been doing great with Garoppolo, and he's more of a traditional, but I think that's kind of what they pictured is like hey man. We have a great running game. Just using our tailback. But now if we added a whole another basically running back on our team that is going to be really tough to defend. And that's what Philly has, you know, with Jalen hurts his ability to run the ball, it's it's just tough for a defense to to dedicate resources to any one guy you know. And he's still got to cover the guys man and he's still got a cover of the you can't leave him alone, right? So when A.J. Brown goes out, someone got to go with. That guy and it just makes it really tough. But yeah, like I said man, they're just not squaring up. Kelly, they're they're. They're on the side of the ball carrier. They're reaching for him and that's just not enough.  Kelly:  Man, I'm no football expert, but even just playing from the backyard I know man at some point. I mean, I know it's a tough sport, but You gotta go head on head sometimes just to knock the guy down.  Chris:  Yeah, and I, I mean the Packers. I mean, you and I are fans, man. We talk about him quite a bit on this podcast. Just you know, 'cause we we both care and and. I mean, we're just in trouble. I will say this maybe won't take a positive, you know, Jordan love has been a big question. Mark my hope as a fan. I mean this season is is lost and I I think you and I probably would both agree. Like alright, let's just see what we got. Then at least we at least we'll make informed decisions in the offseason this way. And the way he looked. He looked pretty sharp man, I I like the way he moved. He seems so much more confident. We only really get to see him play in the preseason for the most part. And you know, it's just hard to tell right? And this was a real NFL game and you know he. He looked the part man. He's got good zip on his ball, good anticipation and he's so fluid moving around so. You know it was a tiny little sample, right? I mean 1/4 and 1/2. Up to you know which which, only I I think you maybe had four possessions total, 3, three or four possessions total, right? So it's hard to really. Levy judgement, but in that little bit man he looked pretty good. So we got to decide what our future looks like.  Kelly:  Yeah, I say I say look and who knows what the future is for sure. But I say play him. You know, I'm not really write anybody into the Hall of Fame or even the starting lineup. After 1/4 and 1/2. But couple of positives if you want to take some from that game for Green Bay that I soft. I think he's finally healthy after all these injuries and and just all the stuff getting him going. Watson got some speed man.  Chris:  Yeah, oh man. And so you know he it was about a. I don't know 12 yard, maybe 15 yard. Kind of a dig, right? Just he just he he went 12 yards, hung a sharp left and then just ran straight across the field. Love through a. Really nice pass, hit him in stride, which is huge right? So you didn't have to stop to catch the ball. You'd have to turn around. He was able to just put keep putting 1 foot in front of the uh. Other caught the ball right out in front of him. A beautiful pass. And then I think those defensive backs that were in chase I. I think they got their eyes open a little bit like holy cow man, this kid is fast so you know you look like you know Chris Johnson or something turning a corner or Tyreek Hill. It was like, you know, they're racing towards the sideline. And and it looks like the defensive players. Have an angle on him, right so so they're going to be able to get to the sideline at the same time he does and and just push him out of bounds, right? Or tackle him or whatever and he just had another gear man. He turned the corner and and that point they're like. Oh crap and then. They weren't going to catch him once. Once he had turned the corner. So yeah, that dude's got some wheels. He's another one man that. His career has been a little shorter obviously than loves. I mean being a. Rookie, but uh. Man, I'll tell you what from that athletic standpoint. He he looks good.  Kelly:  Yeah, so I say let's see what we got in the tank for the rest of this season. And I mean it's just kind of done. Speaking of who's got what in the tank, if you don't have it, that's cool. We can catch up. Next week, but. Have you looked at where we are and who's buying?  Chris:  Who's that dinner? Well, yeah, I looked I I wasn't sure if you really wanted to talk about this man. I looked so, uh. Humble brag I won the week in in our pickem this this week and so so.  Kelly:  So you can buy me dinner with. Your winning thank you.  Chris:  Uh, yeah, so. I all right, I'll just break it down for you Kelly man, I almost feel guilty at.  Kelly:  Listen, give it to me.  Chris:  This point, but uh. I forget when we caught up last, but essentially let's. So I had a two game lead on you coming out a week night. In week ten, I beat you by a game. In Week 11 I beat you by a game and then last week that that Cleveland Browns pick helped a lot. Man, that was my flyer. I felt like they they might be able to get it done against the the Bucks and that's what helped propel me to to the victory for the week and I beat you. Ended up beating you by three so as it stands right now. Uh, we're sitting 107 to 100, so you're not out of it, man, there's still was it 7 weeks left, 123456 weeks left so you got to pick up a game and change a week.  Kelly:  No problem, no problem.  Chris:  Yeah, yeah yeah. So you got it buddy. I believe in you.  Kelly:  It's OK, so we're certain to see pretenders and contenders. I guess even there.  Chris:  I'm not slaughtering just just talking about the pics bud.  Kelly:  And and I'm probably more of a pretender in this than a contender at this point, but hey, I can come back in the NFL. We're starting to see a little of that couple teams come back to reality a little bit. One of my darling picks partway through the seasons, falling down a little bit. The Seahawks following back to six and five 49ers. Definitely on the upswing. And how about that NFC S is? I really think we're going to have a. Team make the. Playoffs with a non winning record it's. The way it's. Looking yeah.  Chris:  I, I mean, I think that's going to happen, man, we'll see. I mean, you know well, you can't be at 500 anymore, right? So we'll see if someone could scratch their way to 9 and eight, but. That yeah, it's just a hey. What's crazy is they're all so Tampa sitting at five and six Atlanta sitting at five and seven Carolinas got four wins and Orleans as four wins, so they're all within a game egg. It's anybody is anybody division who wants it? You know, pretty ugly, but they? They'll get to host. A pop out playoff game.  Kelly:  Just about getting in man, yeah.  Chris:  Yeah no, that's it. That was the whole conversation. I was just having with my father regarding. The the fantasy and we were talking about like refreshing his bench a little bit and stuff and and it's like hey man all that matters is that you get there then you never know when it's going to snow or you know it's a funny shaped ball. It bounces funny sometimes you never know when there's going to be pick sixes and and various randomness. In in an NFL game. So if you just get there, just get to the playoffs then you know sometimes magic can happen before.  Kelly:  We put the NFL to bed for the week. Anything else you want to talk about? Big games that you like this weekend or other trends? I I would like to get one last question for you from kind of the oddities of the week, so I don't know if you saw the video or of it, but apparently a vandal broke into Cleveland Stadium and drove a truck around the field. Do you see any?  Chris:  I mean, how does that even happen?  Kelly:  That's what I want to know dude. I've been to a few stadiums and like how. Do you break in?  Speaker  Yeah, with the vehicle.  Kelly:  And get it. Stopped on the field.  Speaker  That's what I was saying, I mean.  Speaker 1  It's one thing.  Chris:  If you know you as an individual dressed in your black hoodie and can scale a fence and and sneak your way through. The shadows how do you bring the truck? I know I just don't know how they even did it, but I did. I did see that and I went and hunted down to see if I get some close-ups and stuff. They did say that most of the damage was aesthetic. You know, they they wouldn't have put the players in jeopardy. They just imagine the ground screw, though they all show up. For work the next day, like what the hell?  Speaker  Well, what what happened?  Chris:  Here and you could see it, you know I, I didn't even notice it. Uh, during the game, but I after going back and and and hearing about it and checking in on it, I was like Oh yeah, look at that and look at all the someone out there doing Donuts. I mean what a fun. Time for for that guy or girl. I'm sure they had a, uh, a rip roaring time out there spinning Donuts, you know on the Browns field, but. I, I'm just. I'm kind of blown away how it even happened.  Kelly:  Yeah, that they they had quite the adventures in Cleveland because at that same time they had a skunk running around in the stands. I read so. And I guess eventually Skunk took off, got away and they couldn't catch it. It didn't spray anything, so lot a lot of interesting things in the NFL, including a little bit of the news of the offbeat, I guess.  Chris:  Yeah I and and I'll say this man hidden in in. You know, I've been a little disappointed with some of the stuff that NFL had to offer you, and I have talked a little bit about. You know how my passion is? Switched back to college and but but I still love NFL, right? I I mean, I, you know it's it's still football at the highest level and I I guess I I guess not. Maybe my expectations are too high and I just expect more from these guys sometimes, but. Heading into this week, man, there's a couple of good ones. Man, you know the bills are at the Patriots on Thursday night and. Uh, you know that that that should. You know that it shouldn't. Be a, you know going. A few weeks. Ago we would've just assumed the bills are going to mop them up button right now. I don't know, man. The Patriots defense is playing really well. And the the bills has. Just kind of. Been a little like their. I mean they're still winning, but it's like, yeah, they haven't been as impressive. So I'm I'm interested in that one.  Kelly:  Yeah, the bills. Yeah, they just they're. They're still high performing, but they've just lost a step.  Chris:  Yeah, it feels like it man. So you know you never know man who might be banged up and and kind of keeping it on the low. Supposedly Alan shoulder was. OK, and. You know you never know man. Sometimes they just bury that stuff. I mean, Aaron Rodgers had a broken thumb for however long and and and you know, just finally, you know, let it out, right?  Speaker 2  I I still believe.  Chris:  The bills are are a contender for the Super Bowl this year, but yeah, the we'll see man, they're gonna have to win this game and and it would be nice if they did it. You know, with with some in like. You know something something impressive, right? And and you should be a significantly better team than the Patriots. And I I don't know. We'll find out, man. They'll play on Thursday, we'll get to see him, but there's a couple of other really good ones. Man, you know, jets? Who are playing really good football? Got a little spark from you know that Carter quarterback change and and getting my quite in there and you know they have a good team. They got a really exciting defense, a good scheme and that was raining pretty good man during that game and he was slinging the ball all over the yard. Man threw for. Threw for 303 scores and the The Jets are playing at the Vikings which is another you know upper Echelon team. You know one of the better teams in the NFL, so we'll see AFC versus NFC on both of these. Well the Vikings are going to be in the playoffs for sure and The Jets may or may not be. We'll see a little stiffer competition in the AFC, but that's a game that I'm pretty interested in. I'm curious who you like in that and the Vikings.  Kelly:  Are at home I you know, I'd probably say the Vikings, but. This is where you always wonder. OK, so the. You know The Jets make that quarterback change and really get a spark of life. And Guy looked pretty good actually. And then is he. Is this a one time wonder thing you know? Or is it more of a real deal? And overall the Vikings seem like they purchased about every game they put it together till the. You know couple weeks ago when they lost 40 to 3? Uhm, that was. Pretty embarrassing for them now. They came back this week and were better. So I. Think the Vikings. I think figure it for me in the NFC right now. And you know this changes every week I guess. But there's really for me, three teams that I would probably, maybe four teams that I would put above everybody else, and that would be the Eagles, the Cowboys, the Vikings. In the 49ers of those four and I might, we might have done this. We did do this a couple weeks ago, and I'm going to tell you I don't remember what I said. I think the Vikings are probably. The the lowest of those four, I actually put it. Philly, San Francisco, Dallas and then Minnesota.  Chris:  Yeah, that's about that's about right. I I, I, uh. You know we'll see health plays a big role and you know, I, I think Philly and the 49ers at full strength. Assuming mccaffery's healthy and everyone they need on defense is healthy, both teams are at full strength. I think those teams are spot even and. You know, then. I think there's, uh, just a slight step down until you get into the the Cowboys. I think the the Cowboys have some more glaring weaknesses, and you know, their ability to to stop that run right up the you know, right at yeah it is tough man and and depends where you get to play, right? Depends on the environment. You know, if you're playing at home in a Dome, well, right then that's not maybe quite as big a deal 'cause your speed can make up the difference, but over the course of the game. But you know, if you're in the elements or or, you know if it's raining snowing cold man, it sure is nice to be able to run the ball, and that's the one area that I think both the 49ers are. Are capable of of doing that playing defense? And so are the Eagles, and I don't know that the Cowboys are, so that's why I put them just to step down. And then after that I'd put the Vikings after them as well. Man, I got basically the same thing. I just don't. I just don't see much separation between the Eagles and the 49ers at this point in the season where they're at now. I know the records are different, but and the health. Is a little different, with McCaffrey being a little banged up, but.  Kelly:  Assuming they're at full strength, start playoffs I I just. I think that game could go either way. You know? I think that would actually again be a really good game would be one. I'd look forward to. That was just a really good pick up by the 49ers to get McCaffrey. Really complements everything else they're doing. And the Eagles are just one of those teams that. Right now anyway, it's just all clicking farm and you know it's usually one or two teams a year where. It's just really kind of clicking on all cylinders. And you hope that if you're not that team, you know that you can. Like I said, just you can get in and get hot and and do well. And that's not you can just avoid them.  Chris:  So sometimes deploy.  Kelly:  You know, that's not to discount the Vikings. The Vikings are explosive at times. Jefferson, you know he's unreal and. But they they, I think, also have some vulnerabilities and and they are less complete.  Chris:  Yeah, agreed, and there's a couple other ones. So the The Jets and the Vikings is pretty interesting. There's a couple other games that mean something. The commanders are at the Giants, you know, which, you know it matters man in. The Giants it's not impossible. For them to just totally. Fall backwards and and and find themselves like wait what happened? We didn't make it. We what will happen here and so and the commanders are playing good football so you know giants have that nice, uh? You know record. You know you. Guys, better you know if you'd started to win a couple of you guys, now I know you're off to a really hot start, but dude, you you know you you still gotta win a few down the stretch to make the playoffs. And if you if you don't keep your foot on the gas, there's some other teams that are coming for you. And the commanders are are one of them, and they get to play. This week and and I mean right now. I think I'd have to say that the commanders are playing better football than the Giants are.  Kelly:  This is that time of year where you know to maybe use a a weak analogy, but hey, kid, if you were going to go out cruising, you should have put 10 bucks in the tank instead of five because the night's not over. But you're running low on gas and there's not another gas station, and that's what happens this time of year for. Some of the NFL teams. They start out like really hot but come late mid to late November early December. They they fall back and somebody else catches up. And then they're in desperate desperation mode to regain a little bit of that fire. And that's where that's how I see the Giants right now.  Chris:  Yeah, I I 100% agree with you. There's a couple other pretty decent games Titans at Eagles. I I like that that's that's kind of like the. It's very similar to 49ers and Eagles. You know, these guys have a similar mentality. You know their their approach to the game is. It's similar, it's like, hey man, we're just we're going out a few I'll greet you we're going to scratchies and and. You know, fight, fight to the death and they want to run the ball. They want to stop the run. They're they're about big hits and and and you know, pushing, pushing the line of scrimmage the way they want. And both of these teams have a very similar mentality and I like it and I I like this kind of football. It's getting harder and harder to find, especially in a matchup, so you know there might be three or four teams that play this style of football. You know, Eagles. This year Titans every year, Seahawks, historically, you know, that's that's how they want to play, right? And but to get them to match up with each other is it's kind of rare right? And so that this is one of those pretty cool matchups where both teams want to do the same thing. And we'll see who's better and they don't hide it at all. You know, you know these this isn't Andy Reid or. Or Shawn McVeigh, or Sean Payton? You know? No, they're not trying to trick you. And and out scheme, you and and and misdirection you. They they're telling you. I mean, they'll tell you to play before as they're walking up to the right instrument. Hey, we're gonna sweep this ball to.  Kelly:  The left good luck. I mean this is this. Is old backyard football dude OK? Hey, I'm the guys from 12th Ave you're the team from 14th Ave. We're going to meet on 13th and we both know who and what we are and we know what we're going to do and it's you know. This week we did it better next week you did. There's no secrets here.  Chris:  Yep, and I like that. Man and so.  Kelly:  I love it man. I mean you know it's. Because it's a combination of athletic talent, strength and and you're really seeing, there's still the some of the finesse. And when the running backs break free, you know they do. Some still got a little bit of passing, but at the end of the day it is real. Hey, I'm going to line up against you and. We're going to see what happens. Every you know 70 * A.  Chris:  Game yeah, and I like it. It's kind of like a you know when you run a science experiment man you want to try and reduce variables you know you want to get a conclusion that's not cloudy and and you know in in these types of situations you know you're taking a lot of variables out. It's just going to blow down to execution. You know? There's no tricks. Well, I mean, you never know. They might try a fake punt or something along the way or whatever, but but for the most part, man, we're not hiding what we're doing, we're we're, you know what we're going to do, and we know that you know what we're going to do and and that's that's the case for both sides. And so you take constant all the all the other like miscellaneous variables out. And it's just like, OK, who can do this better and and. It just feels real clean to me man, and I said it boils down to execution man and and just, you know holding your blocks. You know being where you need to be when you need to be there and and I like that that part of football. Other other a couple of good ones. Man, I'm the Dolphins at the 49ers is is a clash of styles and you know we'll just see. I mean it's it's going to be in Northern California. Dolphins got to do the take the trip a little easier to head W than it is to head east, but. You know that's another one. I'm interested in. These are two what I think are really good football teams. I think the Dolphins have proved it. We've talked a lot about the 49ers. I think most people believe 49ers are a good football team and And we'll see man. I mean 11 likes to Chuck the ball kind of all over the yard man and and got a lot of speed at the receiver position. And a quarterback who's playing really well and and then the other one is, you know, straight out in 1975 and and you know. But that does it really well, so it's kind of a clash of styles here and we'll see which one wins out there. I'm interested in that.  Kelly:  Can't add anything to that.  Chris:  And then the Chiefs are playing at the Bengals Bengals. You know, AFC representative last year? You know, there's probably a a bone to pick here, and chiefs look like the best team in football right now. Certainly one of them and the Bengals have been playing pretty good football as of late. It feels like they've been. You know, kind of the the duct tape and baling wire you know of all the teams so far and they're just barely holding it together. And it's like they're trying to figure this whole thing out on the fly, but they're still winning football games while they're doing that, so you know, this is 1. We'll see. Man, I think it'll say more. If if the Bengals were able to win this game, I think it would say more about. Damn, I think we know who the chiefs are. If they went in and had a game that they lost on the road to another. You know playoff team. Yeah, wouldn't it probably wouldn't knock them down too much, but I think if the Bengals can win it'll it'll raise them up quite a bit.  Kelly:  There's yeah, there is definitely more here for the Bengals out there to gain from a victory than the Chiefs from a loss. The I think your duct tape and baling wire analogy is good. The you know the the Bengals. They're like we know what they have, you know. But they've had some key injuries, so they've been trying to. Hold it together and scraping out winds, but this if they can, you know if that behavior and way of being can pull one out against the chiefs, who I think right now are definitely playing the best football. They're just unreal, I mean. Some teams they like I said man, there's just teams. They finally get clicking and they're just doing that. That will be more for the Bengals. Really a lot of good games this week.  Chris:  Yeah, the yeah there are man there's there's definitely. I mean there's a couple. There's some dogs out there and stuff, but there's definitely a a handful of nice matchups. It's like OK, this is all right. We're starting to see some good teams playing each other. What's cool about this time of year man, you know basically after the Turkey gets put in the fridge. You know? You know this is when it's it really matters, right? And so everything else? I mean, it's nice to establish position. It's nice to get off to a good start. You know it's it's too bad if you didn't, but you know you. Maybe you're not out of it blah blah blah, but but the reality is the the teams that have a chance to win a Super Bowl, which is the ultimate goal. That's why they do this every year. They're defining themselves now. They're they we know who who the contenders for that are now, right. And so we can start to see when these teams match up with each other. It's like OK, you know, let's let's see how you look against another dude who thinks he. Can win the Super Bowl?  Kelly:  Yeah, I mean there's you know you have to go do the actual math, but probably. 80% of the playoff positions are locked down by now. Seeding within them, maybe not, but I you know, if we if we looked up and down the divisions, we could probably predict accurately. 80% of the teams that are going to be in the playoffs. And so as those teams start to face off each other, you are seeing you know what's the. Coming up on the. Playoff potential. And yeah, there's going to be a little bit of drama. Maybe some team will still speak in, or some team that we thought would be in that 80% falls out. But really, it's really kind of that for me. Next three to four weeks in the NFL are generally the most interesting. As you see, these teams start to position themselves and start to peak for playoff.  Chris:  Yeah, the AFC still man. I mean you know the the the Bengals very easily could lose this week to the Chiefs. And you know, we we, The Jets will see. I mean they got to travel to Minnesota, which is another good football team. And and they've had inconsistent quarterback play all year, which is really challenging to win with. They've managed to, but you know, we'll see if that can continue. And so there there's, there's still some movement available. And then to be honest with you man, we haven't mentioned the Ravens, but the Ravens have been just kind of. Milling about, you know not looking really playing real inspired football either. And you know the the Bengals right now are tide with them in records. Now the the Ravens have a tie break with them, but you know Bengals are are are coming and if the Ravens don't get their act together they might be the team. A team that we haven't talked about all season as potentially. The outside look. Again, if they don't, if they don't start playing a little better football, they might be the team that that gets booted out, and then if you look behind them you know the we'll see what happens with the patriots, but the Chargers there, it just feels like they're just starting that you know, Keenan Allen came back this week. You know Mike Williams should be back in in the next week or two, right? I I don't. Remember the situation with Bosa, but I thought there was a chance he could make it back. So if they get that guy back now all of a sudden it's like OK, you know this team that we thought way you know in in August could be a. Gender, you know they've been under the radar all year, but you know if the Ravens or The Jets or the Bengals if if one of them stumbles, the Chargers might be right right there to slide into one of those playoff spots. And if they're approaching full health come, you know, week 1718, they could be a team that nobody wants to. Face in the playoffs.  Kelly:  I, I would say the Ravens, you know I I said just a minute ago. Every once in a while there's a you know we think we know 80% but there's a team every once in a while that gets bounced out of that 80%. The Ravens are are there, uh? Teetering on the edge of that they're, you know, they win some. They lose some, but playing a little too close to the danger zone it. I don't think it's going to happen, but it wouldn't surprise me if they do end up on the outside looking in and and you know also won't surprise me if they go on A6 game-winning streak. Either could happen.  Chris:  Yeah, I mean you know. What we'll see? I mean, you know we'll just see you know if they can put it together. I mean, you want to believe that they're, they're, uh, a solid team, but you know, they just lost to the Jaguars and and they scored 13 against the Panthers. You know that they eked out a close one against the Browns. They lost to the Giants, you know. Eat out a close win against the Bengals. You know lost the bills. No shame in that. But you know, yeah, they just haven't been impressive. They've they've been getting more wins than losses, but you know, with the time that's left in the season will be. I'll be interested to see how they finish off.  Kelly:  Well, hey Chris, we've talked about. The NFL a lot and the. Guys that are getting ready for the NFL and for the draft are finishing up their season. Let's jump over to college football because you know we had the big weekend drive every weekend and a lot happened and we got some championship games but just lots going down.  Chris:  Yeah, this is the one I'm for sure. The most excited about this is the best product. In terms of football available right now, NFL you know is is still obviously the the premier, but I'll tell you man, for excitement for a guy who just likes watching football games. College has just provided more and last week was was a great one. You know the last time we made picks. On air we both picked Michigan to beat Ohio State, and as soon as we were done I was like, well, I should just go put up bet on Ohio. State right now. 'cause anytime Kelly and I are on the same page that that never works out and it turns out we were both right man. That was a. You know what was the final in that game, but I'll tell you, do I mean, obviously I was glued to that game and to be honest man, it wasn't even as close as whatever the final was. The Michigan handled him, dude, that I mean, that's the bottom line. The 4523 was the final and now.  Kelly:  It wasn't that close in the beginning. It was close for about the first few minutes, but. It it it it? It went Michigan way pretty quick.  Chris:  Yeah, basically starting coming out of half it was just like a a totally different. That means just a totally different game coming out at halftime and and Michigan just started running wild on him and. Yeah it was. It was impressive man, and I mean so much. So I I can't blame the committee for keeping Georgia one. George has been the most impressive. Michigan had one really good game and that's following several, like, oh man, that you know in in jeopardy against Illinois. That remember that Rutgers game worlds close early that you look at the final score and I'm looking through a schedule right now and it's like oh they beat Rutgers 52 to 17. It's like, oh, they shellacked him. Well, that would. That's not the case, man. I mean that game was close now I know they ran away with the lady. But and piled up a bunch of scores late, but that game was really close man. And then it was kind of like, you know, Michigan don't look too hot, man. And and then they got up for this Ohio State game. They were ready for this game, more so than Ohio State for sure.  Kelly:  Yeah, I I don't see how you can take. Number one away from Georgia at this point. And and. We'll see, I. I really hope it ends up. I'd kind of like to see right now. I'm Michigan, Georgia.  Chris:  Championship game well and you know we'll see man 'cause George is in. I think no matter what, even if LSU somehow finds magic, and I mean Georgia opened as a 16 1/2 point favorite, they're at 17 1/2. Now Georgia should throttle LSU. They're a significantly better team, but even if somehow, miraculously, LSU finds their way to victory in some kind of old Alabama, LSU nine to six game or something, uh, Georgia is going to be in the playoffs no matter what. They've done enough this season to earn that spot. So George is in for sure, and. Same thing for Michigan. You know, Purdue ended up being a representative and and same thing. Michigan should absolutely destroy Purdue.  Kelly:  Then I'll I'll say this, and if you want to call this my get off my lawn for the week or whatever. We have to do something about the way these conference championships go and the competition level. And hey, I'm a guy saying this with the Badgers who've been a benefactor like especially in the Big 10. These divisions are no way equal and the fact that we're ending up with a. A Michigan Purdue championship game. This is not how things should be geared. The competition level in the two divisions is just not equal, and it's really in a way, a disappointment. If you're going to have a conference championship team that you end up with something like this. I mean, frankly, I mean all rematches aren't good one week after the other, but I'd much rather as a fan. Watch Michigan play Ohio State again. Then watch Michigan play Purdue.  Chris:  Oh absolutely absolutely and you look at the conferences that are set up that way that that don't have the 2 split divisions. The PAC 12 has a Southern Cal playing Utah man. That's a pretty. That's a dangerous game for for something Kel, I think I want to say they're favored by two through maybe three. What is that game? Let me look that up real quick for you. Kelly, uh, should be. Later, oh, it's a Friday game, that's why. Yeah, USC minus three. So in Utah is good man and I guarantee SC is going to get everything. Nothing Utah would like better than to spoil SC. You know dreams of going to the College Football Playoff right? So they'll be up for that game that the SC will get their best shot, so you know. And then Notre Dame was a physical football team that they had to play last week. You know, no doubt some of the guys are a little bumped and bruised. After that game and a little sore coming out of it and a little extra time in the in the cold tub, right? So and then TCU playing K State. Another really, really tough matchup and so that you know the 2 leagues that you know of. The 2 teams that are in the top 4 that have you know just take the 2 best teams, so like if if the? Big 10 did that. It would be missioning at Michigan against Ohio State again in a rematch that would be a legitimate man. I've got. That's a pretty tough competition for to win your you know, conference championship. Right, and that's how TCU and Southern Cal are set up. Whereas Georgia has a lopsided opponent and you know, just the way tiebreaks worked and everything else, I guarantee you Alabama would give a but a much bigger challenge to Georgia than LSU would. But because of tie breaks and you know, LSU beat Alabama, they earned the right. But Ben was the better team out of out of the you know other half of that.  Kelly:  And I think one of the things that you'll see when we get to the 12 team playoff. 'cause I have mixed opinions about with the whole thing. Whether we should have conference championships or not, but at least what you'll end up with and maybe with the 12 team I'm more OK with it because finally get to sender if if you're going to have divisions. Yes, you can be the Cinderella and make it through the conference tournament. Into the big the you know the ultimate attorney but it doesn't force like in a 12 team tournament clearly both Michigan and Ohio State would be in.  Chris:  Yeah, and and. The thing I don't like about the way this is set up is I like it just the way it is right now. I like Georgia, Michigan, TCU and southern Cal. OK Southern Cal play in Georgia. TCU play in Michigan and I like that well. What may happen is you know. Both TCU and Southern Cal what's TC or that? They're like the same man. Yeah, minus 2 1/2 so they're both field goal favorites. There's a good chance one of those two teams lose. This is in the conference championship and then Ohio State's going to slide right back in that part is kind of I. I'm not a fan of that man. You know the these teams. This is the top four teams. Georgia, Michigan, TCU and southern Cal. Now all of those teams have to go play another game against a a formidable opponent. Ohio State doesn't. Ohio State just lost. Pretty pretty ugly fashion and. If if if TCU or Southern Cal loses, there's a decent chance Ohio State takes their spot.  Kelly:  Oh, you know what?  Chris:  That's kinda. It's kinda BS man.  Kelly:  You know if you do it, it'll happen, no, and this is.  Chris:  It'll happen.  Kelly:  This is again, you know. I mean, I know we went from hey at one point we had no championship game was all voters and whatever. Then we had two or them. All these other things. This is as messed up as anything because you are. Those first four teams have nothing positive that can happen to them by winning. Yeah, they just stay in the same spot they're in, right? I don't care if all four of them win. The order is not going to change. So you are asking them to take a test that another team that's done with any testing. If you will doesn't have to do, and they could easily slide in it if the unfortunate happened and. Or whatever you know, let's say that both TCU and USC lost. I I didn't see the rankings, but I know they're out now who who came in at 5:00 and 6.  Chris:  So 5 is Ohio State and 6 is Alabama.  Kelly:  Yeah, so in telling me this yeah, I'll bet. You you know, I I don't know what I bet you, but let's just say that hypothetically TCU lost and USC lost. Uh, there'd be people begging for that community to slide both Ohio State and Alabama back in. Yeah, I think Susan so if even if they lose to K state, I think what they've done to this point.  Chris:  I think TCU is gonna make it now if they get beat out. If they could be you know 40 to 7. Uhm that that might be enough to sway it. But if they lost a close one even if they didn't get the victory. I think TCU will get a spot in the playoffs regardless. SC is the team that I think I I don't know, man, it's hard for me to believe if they both lose. I don't see how you can slide Alabama all the way up. Ahead of both of those teams, given that they lost in a conference championship game against another ranked opponent K state 's 10. So if number 3. TCU loses to number 10 K State. It's like man? How much can you really knock him? That's that's that's a pretty good opponent that they were up against it was an extra game that they had to play over everybody else and Southern Cal is number 4 playing against number 11. Utah you know so.  Kelly:  I'd I'd like to agree with you, but I just. You know who knows what backroom deals go on?  Chris:  Yeah, I don't know man I I just I if if they both lose Ohio State's getting in now then the question would be do you put in TCU? Do you put in Southern Cal or do you put in Alabama? Though those would be the the those three teams. Would be fighting it out for that last spot so, but if DC and Southern Cal both lose I I guarantee Ohio State is in the playoffs and then it's.  Kelly:  So what do you do if Michigan loses?  Chris:  Just a mess. Oh, Michigan's in no matter what.  Kelly:  But do they slide down to four?  Chris:  Yeah, maybe I mean the seating may change a little bit if if Michigan was to somehow stub their toe against Purdue, or even if you're if Georgia, you know stubbed it. I actually think Georgia has a better chance of losing to LSU than I do Michigan losing to Purdue. That's my opinion, but it you know Georgia and Michigan. Are absolutely going to be in the playoffs now what number they are? You know we'll have to see after this week. 's games are played.  Kelly:  Yeah, I I think of the Georgia. I mean I don't think it'll happen. But like LSU's LSU and you know. It's not. Out what what's? The odds in that game right now.  Chris:  A 17 1/2.  Kelly:  Seems a little high to me.  Chris:  Yeah, I thought so too, but I mean. You know LSU's the my, I use this term a lot. There my my smoking mirrors.  Speaker  I mean, they've won the games when when?  Chris:  When they had to, right they? You know they did what they had, they went for. Two in the night game and in Death Valley and and pulled out the victory against Alabama, you know, and and good for them, man. They earned it. They won, they they they they beat Alabama absolutely. But man, not by much and.  Speaker  You know they.  Chris:  Have some other you know losses on their schedule that I mean they just did it. So, uhm. I don't know I. I mean Georgia should handle him. I'm I'm not surprised at 17 I do. I mean, where would you take LSU? At what point would you bet LSU would you bet him at 14? You know, what would you say? Alright, I'll take LSU in this game. Yeah, I'm just. I'm never. I'm never betting on LSU. Yeah, you would take him at 10. Well, I'll give you a bet buddy. I'll give you 11.  Kelly:  OK.  Chris:  Yeah, I'm just saying that. Georgia has the potential to there so.  Kelly:  No doubt it could be. It could be a 35 point victory.  Chris:  Yeah, I think I and same thing for Michigan. I think Michigan just rolls.  Kelly:  You know, fine man. Well, who, I'll tell, I'll take it all just for the sake of fun, right? I'll take LSU in 11.  Chris:  All right?  Kelly:  Well I got to lose I don't know.  Chris:  All right, well that to be determined.  Kelly:  We'll figure something out. But, uh, probably yeah, maybe OK, you'll get a dessert with it too then.  Chris:  Drinks at the dinner that you're going to buy me.  Kelly:  Then you'll fall asleep. We already know how that goes. Yeah, it just wouldn't surprise me because they're they're that. There, LSU and just odd stuff happens man. Yeah Georgia Georgia like you gotta give them credit, they've lined up every week and one. So until someone else can get to the top of the hill, they are the king.  Chris:  Umm well and they've done it in impressive fashion so you know the scores or the scores on always like Oh my gosh, they beat him.  Kelly:  Oh yeah.  Chris:  You know 50 to 3, although some of them are like that. They did beat Vanderbilt 55 to nothing, but you look at the final score and it's like, OK, uh, they're winning. But if you watch the game, you know Georgia is just dominating the line of scrimmage. On both sides of the ball and it almost looks like they're kind of playing with their food a little bit. In some of these games, you know when I've watched the the Georgia Games. And in fairness, I haven't watched all the Georgia Games from start to finish, but when I have two, didn't watch Georgia play. You could just see the physically more imposing team, but both sides, you know offense and defense.  Kelly:  Yeah, I haven't. I haven't watched every bit of every Georgia game, but I've I tend to sample parts of a lot of games on a football Saturday and. I don't know that they've really had a lot of drama in many, if any, of their games where the ultimate score was ever in. It's more about you know how much are they gonna win by or like I can go back to some like for example, some Michigan games and I'll tell you, point blank. The ultimate score was in doubt a few times.  Chris:  Yeah, yeah.  Kelly:  You know I can go.  Chris:  And every game that TCU played, I'd say. That that was.  Speaker  The case I mean.  Chris:  I I'd have to go back pretty far to find a game where you know. TCU didn't like winning miraculously. At the end I I think they did it in just about every game they played.  Kelly:  In man you know I, I will say. Part of all this. So is what I really enjoy. About college football. Not, I mean yeah, there's my own Wisconsin Badgers this year. Definitely one of them, uh, a lot of times there's games that are just, you know, not great, and some I'm. I'm not a big fan of the. You know 70 to nothing wins, but there's usually enough games over the course of a weekend with the emotion and the excitement and something compelling. In that drama that I I love about college sports, you add in the pageantry the bands in the background, the screaming fans and. I think it's a compelling product.  Chris:  Well and like I said, I just hoped TCU can take care of business in SC can take care of business. The way it's set up, I just think it's beautiful. You have SEC at the top which which I think is fair. Here you have the Big 10 second, which I think is fair. You have the Big 12 as the the three representative and the PAC 12 as the four representative you got. You know four different conferences represented in the playoffs, and they're ranked probably like as you think they should be. You know SEC. Big 10 Big 12 and PAC 12 are are interchangeable. You know you can make an argument which ones better on it on a year by year basis, but year in year out the SEC is the premier. Football Conference I I would say Big 10 is is #2 with a little gap in there and then the ACC PAC 12 and and Big 12 or or kind of a you know a good good solid step behind them and I just love the way it's set up man I want I want the best representative that you have to offer and if if Southern Cal. Can can beat Utah? I don't think there's any question question that they are the best representative coming out. If TCU remains undefeated, they ran through the whole conference. Man beat K state twice, so if that happens, I don't think there's any doubt that they're the best. It has to offer offer Michigan. You know, proved it on the field at the horseshoe, so I just love it man, I just love the way it's set up. I just hope I hope and hope and hope that TCU and Southern Cal can can handle it and I just think it'll make for a really. Really exciting playoff.  Kelly:  I like the way it's I. I really I like the way it's lined up right now. The one thing here I'm gonna. Borrow your get off my lawn your get off my lawn chip this week and tell you my second one. I don't know how they need to do this and maybe with the 12 teams it'll help a little bit, but there's something that I really don't like. About the way the whole college football thing works. So all this is set up great and I like the way it's laid out, but so we're going to get our last games on. December 3rd it will be this year Saturday, the 3rd. And then we do not get another champ in this championship tournament. We do not get another game, probably this year until January 1st. Yeah, now I understand it's college and there's academics and all of that but.  Chris:  Oh like that matters.  Speaker  OK.  Kelly:  No sport takes a month off before you play your championship. And then you just lose too much momentum. I know the games usually come out being OK, but I don't know. Again, it's get off my lawn. Where they should just find a way to do this differently.  Chris:  Yeah, I I agree with you wholeheartedly man. I mean it just let's keep going, you know.  Kelly:  You want to give them all a by one week or something.  Chris:  Play on the tents and and then you know. It would be tough to skip 2 weeks and play on the 24th, but I mean they they play on New Year's Eve. Well, that's another I get offline mile on that one is. That what it is. Again, I think it is the. The semifinals is it on New Year's Eve again?  Kelly:  I'd have to look, but whoever that is the dumbest thing around.  Chris:  Gosh dude, quit wrecking my New Year's. I mean I love football, but I would like to have both. Can I please just have both? Can I have my new? Year's Eve party and. Do I have to? Why don't? Why do you make me pick between the two, right?  Kelly:  And that is just and I don't know. I've read different reasons why what they're trying to do, but. Whichever years it ends up that they play some of the championship chip games on New Year's Eve. I mean just enough's enough.  Chris:  Yeah, I just had to make a, uh, well I'm still in the process of making a tough choice where my my my son's Christmas. Christmas concert at his school just happens to be on the same. Basically the same day and time as my girlfriend's work party, and it's like, oh man, that's a that's a tough adult choice. I have to make, right? I can't do both and I gotta, I gotta decide, you know which? Which one I'm gonna go to and and. I want to support them both right and that's just bad luck man. It's just part of life man. Sometimes you get dealt something that's where you got to make a tough choice. But this is when you pick this man, you you chose this date, you could have picked any date you wanted. You picked this one. And I'm mad, I'm mad about it. Like man, why did you? You could have picked any date you wanted. Everyone will, TuneIn. You could put it on a Wednesday. Or Thursday nobody cares. Everyone will watch and and the fact that you picked this one is like, oh man, that's that's a a little upset about that.  Kelly:  Yeah, family life choices. Trust me I. Know all about that. As you know Chris, I have a twin sister and our graduations were on the same night. Same time in two different cities.  Chris:  So yeah, and we deal with that man as you know we're grown-ups and and sometimes you gotta make some tough I I say this all the time to my kids 8.  Kelly:  Our family had to pick like we divided them in half, went to hers, half went to. Mine so if you don't have.  Chris:  Hurt feelings. That's where you just draw names out of a hat. And and you know, you, you draw, you reach into the hat and you pull out Madison, OK, you're going to Madison on Saturday and you know, you you put 12 of each in the hat. And and that's what you're getting coming. Yeah, no, but we accepted that that's that's part of life, right? And you're gonna have to make tough choices on it to on occasion.  Kelly:  But like you said that that's a.  Chris:  This is avoidable.  Kelly:  That's a life choice that you get to make. Obviously we do have what the OR the college football which is. You know what? There's many other days you could do so, yeah, hey before we close out things and I just want to. Jump over it's. The knockout round of the World Cup US made it in.  Chris:  We yeah, that's a man. I'll tell you what I I I'm not a I'm not a soccer fan I I wouldn't or or football fan, I wouldn't pretend to be. You know about barely know the rules, so but when it when it's going to be the Olympics or when it's going to be the World Cup. Yeah man, it's it's a sporting event. It's it's, you know, I'm a general sports fan and and I get into it and I got the the FIFA set to DVR with the three hours of added time you know needed to make sure I don't miss anything and. I generally watch soccer, so I have my hands full of games that I'm interested in. You know that that are, you know, the bigger games you know and and so those all watch from start to finish and then the other ones that have been recorded that day. I just hit it on like a * 2 Fast forward and then when I see a little one pop up then I hit play and then I rewind it. You know three minutes and I watched the three minutes that led up to the goal, and I kind of watched my son plays soccer that way. You know, in in, in, Fast forward, and I just see how the goals were. Record and then if it's tide with you know 8 minutes to go or something. I might just hit play and watch the the last 7 or 8 minutes or something of the match. But yeah, pretty exciting, dude. I'm I'm. I'm into it, you know, I just actually hit up a buddy and and asked him if we're going to do a knockout round draft. Might be a spot open if you want in well. I'm looking for four dudes. We'll all all draft four teams each. You know, once the knockout round starts and and those would be or 4 squads. And you know, it's just fun man. It's cool when when the world, these these teams all had to qualify, right? They all had to to get invited here, not every country in the US knows very well. the US men's team anyway. The women are pretty dominant, but the men have been pretty sorry historically and and you know you got it. You got to make it here man. You got to be invited. And and. You know that now it now it's getting real and you know with soccer being, you know a lot of times 1 nothing or or two nothing or or you know 21. It only takes a goal man and I'll tell you what that be my get off the lawn too. Man is a as a sports fan. There's nothing more frustrating. You know when you're watching these soccer matches and it's just so blatant you know it's one thing? Like if I'm watching NFL and you know, the offensive team is driving and then all of a sudden you know that they're in a hurry up offense. And Oh my knee. Oh I, I got you know you see a defensive player go down. It's like I'm cramping coach, I'm cramping. And you know everything gets reset, everything gets stopped. Well, it's an injured player. We have to go deal with them and and. You know, so he lays around the field for a little bit and kind of limps off the field and he's like, OK, jog and I think I might be alright. OK, I think I might be alright then. He's back the next play and it's like what the hell, man, everyone knows what you're up to. Man and soccer has been so blatant about it and you know I want to see action, right? I want to see a sport where where both teams are given it. All they all they can. On the offensive end, well offensive and defensive. But you see, I want to see you trying. I don't want to see you blatantly killing time and that's the one thing that's a little frustrating. Watching soccer matches is you see one team you know. They're down one nothing and they're just just trying, like like as hard as they can. To you know. Get the ball and get and try and get a goal and they're pushing and and the other team is just like. Playing keep away and it's like you know and then falling down and taking long extended to substitutions and he needs to stretch out a little bit. Meanwhile, the clock's ticking and it's like man, well this guys laying around faking an injury. It seems like we should stop the clock.  Kelly:  Yeah, I follow the World Cup a little bit. I'll be honest. I have not. Found partly because I guess I haven't actively looked great and I'm sure there are some and you know, I know there are, but just great announcers for soccer that like they do. People that do it on TV. I mean obviously they assume you can see which I I won't fault them. For but just right, if I watch football or baseball like, I can get enough of the play by play, and then I also live for the the commentary and the stories. Well, pretty hard to tell stories in during a soccer game, so you really need an announcer that can carry that game. I found some like. In Hockey Doc Emrick, who's now retired who used? To do the Stanley Cup Finals for the US network for the last several years, I mean, he was great at this, whether it was TV or not. I haven't looked for. Like I said, actively a soccer guy that can just bring that emotion to me. So I'll I'll tune in a little bit, but I, I'll confess, it's. Not my main thing and I really I don't even know all the the rules. The though, like you know they have this thing in soccer. Hey, the game's over but we have this stoppage time.  Chris:  Yeah, and it's so random you know it's just so everything so arbitrary it's like I'm watching figure skating. It's like, well, I think we should do. This and it's like.  Kelly:  Well, like I well so I did watch I watched the end of the US game today and they're like OK we the guy. The announcers keep saying well we have 9 minutes at least of stoppage time. We and then we get to the 9 minutes or over and then they're like. Well, there's more time left, but it's only on the referees watch we don't. Know how long? But there's a little bit more time, so you know they're talking about something going on, and this is happening, and, uh, I think uh play was starting to develop and then, oh, games over.  Chris:  Yeah, it's it's the only sport that. I watch that I don't know when it's going to end it. It's it just seems very, you know, arbitrary. So they give you 3 minutes to stop a signs, and then you. You're looking at the clock so they're like, well, we go ahead and finish what they're doing here, and it's like alright, we're gonna let him do one more thing. OK, you know and. It's like OK, they're at. They're at 9093 minutes and 50 seconds. Right now they're at 94 minutes and 10 seconds. Like, yeah, they're still working on some things. We're not quite done yet. Then it's like what does the stoppage time you even mean?  Kelly:  So again, I just you know that's why I don't do this professionally. I readily admit, I'm sure that people that follow soccer regularly can tell me all of how this all works and all that. The thing I do know, at least from talking to people that really enjoy soccer, is it's really about. The movement throughout the game as much as anything and like you know that's what's at least exciting about it, is seeing the the play move from, you know this. This end of the field. To that end of the field in a team. Keeping it in in their zone. I don't even want to sum. I mean, I can say the words, but boy, if I have, if you're describing football players to to me at times, you know. Good luck with.  Chris:  Yeah, and I mean I'm I'm I'm not knowledgeable fan either man. I said I I love world competitions. Well, I might not fully comprehend all the intricacies of what's happening on the field in the moment. I love anything. If you set up the brackets and two teams play and one moves on, I don't. I don't care what you're doing man. It could be beetle races. I I I am in so. If if you set up a bracket. Yeah, and and and it's a single elimination tournament. I I'm I'm all about it man. Let's let's let's see who advances and so and and it's cool, you know. So like I said that you know it's not a ton of scoring in soccer, but for whatever reason, the better teams win, even though they win one to nothing, the the better teams consistently win in soccer, especially when. Once we get to the knockout rounds and stuff so you know we'll see I'm excited man, I'm following it. I've been following it. Which you know couple of the groups are already done. Got a couple more days of group play before they go into the knock. About rounds, and once that happens, that'll be really exciting. And now there won't be any more ties left, so you know every game is going to be decided. Going forward.  Kelly:  You know, I do like the again when I like the the passion and the singing in the stands and just all the energy. I've only been to one pro soccer game in my life. I did go to one Seattle Sounders game, and I mean it was just the the energy is. Unparalleled as far as this you know. From start to finish, the fans are just into it.  Chris:  Yeah, in some of these countries man this is kind of all they got. You know you know here in the United States of America we're. Pretty spoiled with our sports dude. You know, I mean. Not a lot of people, a lot of people. Sport the way we do, right? And you know, for for a lot of the world man, this is it. This is, this is what they have to offer on the world stage in in terms of. World class competition and you know? So yeah, the the people that are there, they're passionate and but well, if you're only going to get to do something once, like score a goal, I mean, it's probably pretty exciting to happen.  Kelly:  You know, I think the other thing that's kind of cool about soccer at times is you. You just don't see this, I mean. But in other sports, all these things that we get here, so not just the World Cup, but you have these like you know you have these. Nation national teams that come together. So I mean you could have guys on your national team that play for competitors in the same league or different leagues and you know they come together for this World Cup. The only time we maybe get that sometimes it's with some Olympic stuff, but I think that's kind of cool.  Chris:  Yeah, yeah, I mean you have you have a, uh, do this plan for you know Belgium who you know plays professionally in Germany and now Belgium play in Germany, you know? And it's like you know this. Guy is their star. And the guy they root for, you know you, you know game any game out when he's playing on, you know for their football club and now now he's an enemy you know playing. For the playing for the other team, there is a cool dynamic and and it just means a lot. It it only comes around every four years. Man, I mean you know it's it's, it's pretty cool. It really is and that's that. Like I said, I I well, I'm not knowledgeable about this, the sports itself. I do appreciate the way it's set up and what it means and and you know the the value of it to to you know all these different countries.  Kelly:  Well Chris, no pie for you tonight, but a great conversation as always.  Chris:  Man, they're still going strong. There's a lot of good stuff going on on go home. Go home for. Bugs you know, go Trojans and you know, let's just keep things as they are. And I I I'm I'm excited for college man football's. Got a good. Slate, you know, at least a handful of good games that I'm interested in, so you know, we're we're not slowing down on the sports front at all. Right now buddy and I gotta, I gotta get a.  Kelly:  Victory and more each week others. I'm buying you a dinner and we'll figure out we'll figure out something. Remember it's LSU, bye.  Chris:  Seven hey Oh yeah, we gotta figure out what that is. Hey, Speaking of you know victory by victory you know our Fantasy Football League, buddy, you're you're you're in the fight big guy I'm I'm.  Kelly:  Hey I am on a.  Chris:  So proud of you.  Kelly:  Roll I got three wins, baby.  Chris:  Yeah, you're you're you're, I mean. Dude, you're only two games. Out of the. Playoffs Kelly so.  Kelly:  Yeah, I'd have to. I'd have to go look at. Yeah, well, Speaking of. Of making the playoffs. Without a winning record, we are in our fantasy football team has eight teams. We do a top four and a bottom 4. We are in definite possibility of one of the top four not having a winning record because the top three are ten wins, nine wins and eight wins. We then have two people with. 5 two with four. And of course, your podcast host. The league commissioner. Pretty poor fantasy player. Apparently bringing it all up at the trail end with three. I'd have to go look at who plays who to see if I even have a chance at getting into the playoffs. I mean, I can get up to six wins, but I don't. Know if. That's you know with the right things happening. If it would even matter. But I'm on a roll.  Speaker  Yeah well 2.  Chris:  Weeks ago man you were dead in the water and and now you're not so hey man, you're still alive. I mean, technically, you're still mathematically alive for I'll tell you what man your team wrong, you would have been making a run if you'd have taken my Derek Carr, Devante Adams and Miles Sanders. Deal I was I was going to give you those those 3 for for my homes and you know that's 100 points a week, right? There that you passed up on, that's all. That's all you score buddy. So I I gave you a legit offer and and you you you you turned me away and you know you you've managed to to to keep yourself afloat without it so.  Kelly:  Hey man, I'm key I won by.  Chris:  You know good onions.  Kelly:  Like 2 points this week.  Chris:  Hey everyone counts man.  Kelly:  But they say it's WCW.  Chris:  Yes, Sir.  Kelly:  And you're a winner in my book Chris. And thanks to everybody who listens and we'll talk to you again next week.  Chris:  Alright, Kelly sounds good my friend.  Kelly:  Alright bye Chris, and thanks everyone for listening to this edition of the podcast to be named later.
